For the first time in years, St. Patrick’s Day is falling on a Friday, giving party goers in Dubai all the more reason to go overboard with all the celebrations. Since Dubai is not one to shy away from a celebration, there are lots of parties and music festivals this Friday, some even going to extent of three days. Here are some of the top places where you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year

Paddy’s Day Party - Dubai Amphitheatre, Dubai Media City

Teaming up with DGT Events, McGettigans is hosting a massive party at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. The party is set to feature live music from popular performers Gavin James, Walking on Cars, The Coronas and the stars of The Commitments. The party will also have brunch deals, Irish dancing and a carnival atmosphere.

Adult tickets are priced at  AED125 (early-bird, including one free drink), AED150 (regular, including one free drink), AED395 (brunch), AED75 (kids under 16) and its free for kids under five. You can also book tables or the big barbecue brunch (priced at AED395 per person including unlimited food and drinks from 1pm to 4pm) whilst enjoying the day-long festival. Tickets on sale at Platinumlist.net and 800 Tickets.

Live Vibes - Dusk Terrace, Radisson Blu, Dubai Media City

If the whole Irish jig with green colors are not your thing, then you can opt for this alternative party, complete with live music from leading Lebanese indie rock and pop bands. You can see performances from Zeid Hamdan and The Wings, as well as four-piece girl band Iklil, with DJ sets coming from Raya and Tadafok.

You get free entry if you pre-register, which you can do by sending an email to [email protected] Ticket prices are AED75 on the door before 10pm and AED100 after.

Fibber Magee’s - Saeed Tower One, Sheikh Zayed Road

Sometimes the best way to celebrate a holiday is to go and relax in a pub. While you are at it, why not head over to Fibber Magee’s, where you will be greeted to an authentic experience. Irish hops will cost you just AED 25, and there will be two-for-one deals on selected Irish shooters between 4pm and 8pm. There will also be live music supplied by the resident rock band, Roadie from 9.30pm till late. Parties at McGettigan’s - Various

There are bound to be plenty of St Patrick’s day celebrations and shenanigans at all three of McGettigan’s bars. You can either head to the branch at Jumeira Lake Towers, Dubai World Trade Center or Souk Madinat Jumeirah.

You can start the day with a breakfast roll and pint from 10am to 1pm for Dhs50, or stay for brunch, with four hours of free-flowing food and drinks all for just AED295. There will be live music, entertainment, and genuine Irish craic as well.

The Dubliner’s - Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Center

Another great place to chill during St Patrick’s Day is The Dubliner’s at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Center. This year’s Paddy Day just happens to fall on the weekly Emerald City brunch as well, so you can expect a lively atmosphere complete with great food, drinks, music and overall great people.

Packages available from Dhs99 for all-you-can-eat and two house beverages, or Dhs79 for kids 12 and under.

The Irish Village

The last one on our list, and the best, is a three day celebration at The Irish Village. Located near Garhoud, head over here to enjoy three full days of fun, music and food. Starting from Thursday March 16th, and running till Saturday March 18th, Irish Village promises a celebration for the whole family.

There will be live music from Ruaile Buaile, The MapleJacks and DJ Marky Mark, along with traditional Irish music and dancers on Friday 17, and a kid-friendly event on Saturday 18, featuring a petting zoo, face-painting and a bouncy castle. The best part, the whole thing is absolutely free.
